History:
This is a smaller scaled of the original, the cropped bust was crafted in 1899 (Beckett number 756). The original: A Renaissance masterpiece, David is renowned as one of the most popular works of art ever created. Sculpted in marble by Michelangelo between 1501 and 1504, the 5.17-meter statue is housed in the Galleria dell’Accademia in Florence.
